She was 80 years old at that time when she shared her love story. At the age of 13 she got a lover who was two years older than her. He was a son of a widow and selling of salt was their only means of living. She described their love as pure, deep and alluring. They had many plans for their future. They promise to be faithful to each other till death. Until suddenly their relationship was shaken. Another gentleman ask her hand from her parents. The man was described as nice. He was known to be hardworking and responsible. He belong to a well to do family who owned a wide farmland. Her parents admired the man very much and she heard that both parents of the party planned to arranged their marriage.
Heightened with so much fear she rush to her lover. She beg of him to present his love to her parents and asked her hand for marriage. She asked him to outdone the other guy's plan to take her. Exhausted with her news he cried and told her " I will love no one but you and I will die loving you only". In tears she replied, "Please do something, please help me. I do not want to live a lonely life married to the man I don't love". However, her true love never came. How could he asked her hand, he has nothing to offer. During the old days men were pressured to offer something in lieu of the woman they wanted to marry. They had to looked extravagant in suit, food, money, goods, properties and livestock to proved that they were worthy to become a husband and to proved their love to a woman. But her lover has nothing to offer except the love in his heart. His ego depreciated. He was so helpless that he lost his self-esteem. And those days happened to be the lowest moments of their lives.
Then a grand wedding took place. People are feasting, drinking and merrying. But two hearts are mourning. In the first few years of their marriage she never had joy in her heart. She didn't even find joy in bearing and rearing a child. She was so depressed and down. Despite that her husband was so good to her. He adored her, cared for her, love her, pampered and nurtured her. He sacrificed a lot for her. He even treated her like a queen. He do all the household chores and he didn't want her to work. He gave her all the glory and fame she deserved. They live with so much abundance in money, food, clothings and livestocks. They spend their entire married life living in Negros owning a hacienda.
Her true love died at the age of 26 that was ten years after she got married. She said that the man he truly love fulfilled his promised. He never fall for another woman. He died loving her alone.
This old tale was my grandmother's sibling's love story.
(i learned and realized a lot of things out from this)
It's been awhile since my last post. I was kinda busy with my new life since I got married. I transferred to a new place and it took me a year and a half before I could adjust to a new way of life. I was complaining about the traffic and the three rides I made each day. Pollution is also another problem. I got allergic rhinitis, dry skin and dull hair often.There are also times that I find difficulty getting a ride. The jeepneys are crowded with people and I am often caught in a raise with other passengers just to get a seat. The hassles and hurdles I experienced made me thought of my former home. I missed those days when I only made one ride going to work and going home. I missed the easy life I have had. Sometimes I dream of of getting a car so that I can drive home smoothly and get rid of inconvenience. I did even pray that God will blessed me financially so that I could purchased a second hand vehicle. Thanks to my husband who comforted me every time I get distressed and in tears of my stressful life. It takes time to adjust. It doesn't really happen over night. Adjustment is a long run process and I am very much thankful that I made it. So if it was possible for me, I don't think it would not to you. Let me inspire you with this quote:
“We set goals or goals set us, a difficult question indeed to solve.
Still to simplify, I recommend a walk towards the goal. If you reach the
goal good enough! If you don't reach don't ever try to adjust the goals
but feel free to adjust your action plans. I know it will work
miracle.”

Last Saturday was my parents 33 years wedding anniversary. The whole family attended a holy mass then we had our dinner at the famous local restaurant STK TA BAY. It was a wholesome evening, my brothers special someone and mine dined with us. Prior to that I already made a reservation which is good for nine people. These are the following food that I ordered:
Crispy Pata @ 320 per serving Crispy Kangkong @ 90 per serving Spicy and Non Spicy Calamaris @ 195 & 190 per serving Tinolang Manok @ 145 per serving Rice @ 50 per platter 1.5 Bottle of Coke and Sprite @ 60 per bottle
We really had fun at STK TA BAY. I highly recommend this restaurant here in Cebu.
On the midnight of December 24, 2010 after their family rosary, the family had their noche buena. While everybody was busy eating, a light yellow butterfly with a combination of circle cream to light brown wings went inside their home and to everyone's surprise stayed in the room of the girl for a few seconds. The father told everybody that something unusual is happening the butterfly went inside his daughter's room. The girl reacted that yellow means brighter future, happiness and joy. The following day, the girl together with her sisters visited the village chapel and while they were praying the rosary the same butterfly appeared and was clinging at the altar cover beside the girl. In her mind she wondered why that yellow butterfly has to appear in her presence and why circumstance would tell that somehow it is bringing a message for her. She did not bother to interpret the event not until another circumstance happened. Four days after that unusual and mysterious experience the girl receives a text message from a male-acquaintance whom she met at her best friend's wedding. The guy introduced himself and was serious in getting to know her. After ten days of communicating they finally met in person, became good friends and later on became lovers. The guy on the other hand said that human instinct dictates him to pursue her. That was when he saw her in the church he felt something pleasing and desirable about her. He prayed for signs asking God to bless his prayers with positive response.
The story above may tell that God do give signs and do sends messages to us. It is of human effort to get the message and work for the desirable interpretation of the signs.
I'm a super pessimistic in the past. I worry a lot and make small stuff big. I do not know how to handle difficulties and problems. Had it be that I do not have a super optimistic father I could have gone to suicide hehhehehehe gosh just kidding, i honestly did not resorted to such. I'm enrolled in law school right now and mind you I'm not doing good with my studies. Law school is depressing because it kills almost all of your time studying and reading bulk materials (books and cases). It really subtracts my time for my family, my community, my friends, my work (shshshshhs) and myself. I did not have good long hour sleep, and my savings are sliced.
I was in Bohol last May 14-15, 2010. It was a short visit from Tubigon to Panglao but I had fun and adventure. We were suppose to go to Panglao as a group but my sister and her husband chose to go to Sagbayan Peak instead. So I traveled all by myself going to Panglao. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Tagbilaran then from Tagbilaran I rode a mini bus going to Panglao Beach, I reached the place within 30 minutes. Though it was quite far, I still enjoy the white sand beach under the heat of the sun. I stayed in the water for 30 minutes then had eaten Hawaiian Pizza and very cold Coke for my lunch. I showered then promptly go back to Tagbilaran. I cannot stay there for long otherwise I be short of budget. The room rates and the food are too expensive. I also want to catch the last trip for Tagbilaran City. When I arrived in the city, I explored Island Mall and I bought Bohol delicacies. After that shopping, I rode a van going back to Tubigon. Then I went to the pier to buy a ticket for Cebu ship travel. Wow I got home in Cebu on the 15th of May at 8:00 pm. I actually appreciate Bohol because the people there live a very simple life. The place is really comparable to Cebu; peaceful, orderly and not so crowded. But this is what I noticed, of which men should discover themselves, there are a lot of beautiful typical Filipinas there. Most Boholanas that I encountered had sweet accommodating smile, brown skin and long black hair. Despite that experience I still love more my hometown, eka nga there's no place like home.
I have been suffering from sleep paralysis, this is an illness wherein a person's mind is conscious but his/her body could not move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, a person may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking. According to literature four out of every 10 people may have sleep paralysis. This common condition is often first noticed in the teen years but in my case I started to experience the condition at the age of ten. But any person of any age can have it. Sleep paralysis may run in families. I usually experienced sleep paralysis everytime I lack sleep, if my sleep schedule changes, and if am so stress with work. Based from my readings, there is nothing to worry about this condition as this had nothing to do with psychiatric or psychological disorder. There is also nothing to panic about this. Prevention is still the key to avoid the illness, which include trying to get enough sleep at least 7-8 hours a day and relieving oneself from too much stress, and for some who sleep on the back trying new sleeping position maybe helpful.
I had a lighthearted talk with a friend whom I don't often care and thought of that much. We just had this opportunity to bond together because we were joining the same organizational activity. Our conversation highlighted the memories of our past that brought meaning and joy in our different lives. That lighthearted talk bring back those times when I had myself lived within a closet. I was so immature then and could hardly relate to people from different walks of life. I struggled from shyness, low self-esteem and neediness to be loved and accepted. I hide myself from the real world and could not grasp the essence of my existence. I have been searching for my life's meaning and mission. I thought before that I will have a bigger mission to accomplish. It was more of thinking that I'll become a missionary in far away lands serving the less fortunate brothers and sisters in Africa. However, it did not turn that way. There I am serving the academe as an ordinary support staff suffering from the tortures of indifferent colleauges. I became weary and turn out apathetic. I had myself isolated from those whom I cannot really trust. Gladly I elevated from such an unhappy life by choosing peace and by forgiving those who deeply scarred me. It takes time to heal, its a long process of forgetting and forgiving. I 'm now immune to heartaches but I discovered that loving is the strongest weapon to counter the emotional sadist.
By the way we had our Organizational Planning in Agua Azul Resort in Badian Cebu that's three hours ride from Cebu City.
I went home to the province last Saturday and observed that the candidates were very busy campaigning and at the same time listing the names of voters who are surely a supporter of their candidacy. Why were they listing the names of their supporters?, its because they were configuring on how much cash they would prepare for these people. On the other hand, I also saw group of CICIMPEL volunteers orienting people to support the integrity of a clean, peaceful and honest election.They tell people not to accept money from the candidates. However; their forceseemed very weak because they were not convinced that the people would have a change of attitude. They feared that they would still accept bribery and vote without proper discernment.
How dicernment works? The key to easily discern the Will of God, even in very minor areas, is, first and foremost, to have a solid interactive relationship with God. God is not "a fixture" - He is a concrete Eternally living "entity" - for lack of the appropriate word to describe God. We were created in His Image, therefore, it logically follows that if we want to have a close and solid interactive relationship with God we should try, as a first step, whatever we would try to achieve that same type of relationship with another human being.
Another key - just as important - is to truly desire such relationship out of sheer Love for Him. Not for any material benefit; not for securing Eternal life; not for the sake of Holiness - simply for Love for Him and the consequential logically burning desire to serve Him, to please Him, to console Him, to thank Him for everything,... to be totally His. When you are His, all else will logically follow.
That is the meaning of: Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God (1), and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.[Matthew 6:33]
If you really love God and want to serve Him vote for Him. The only way to choose the best leader is to free yourself from "utang kabubut-on". Do not be entice by a one time 500 or 1000 peso bill. You might say "why not, when everybody is doing so? otherwise you might say that you can receive the amount and just chose who you like to vote?. If you taint your right to vote you consent to corruption, you take part in backward progress of our country and you'll continue to starve. Choose someone who is God fearing, service oriented, morally upright, competent, and pro-life advocate. Make a difference this upcoming election, yes you can do it, I can do it. Yes! we can do it.
Sometimes I do not anymore think that my work is just a work but rather a mission. When I see myself working so hard giving my best and doing an extra mile service somehow it makes me feel proud but I don’t feel such reward often. There were really times that I like to give up, I like to resign and I like to shift career something that won’t really sap my energy. This is what I usually feel during peak season because I have to attend to a lot of job responsibilities. I sometimes observed that I do not anymore produce a good output. I feel much more down when colleagues do not appreciate my effort and instead destructively criticize me. Jesus had His own experience of feeling down. He had many critics and He received many ugly comments disregarding His effort. His joy of serving people did not subside but instead He became very passionate and loving of His mission, of His service to the people. In my work situation, despite so much stress felt and loss of energy I feel that Jesus Has his very meaningful way of making me smile and uplifting my energy. It pays off really to work with kids. I love children so much. I feel that I’m nearer to Jesus every time I talk to them. Here’s some of my experiences; one occasion I was not able to eat my lunch on time because I have to finish encoding test results due in the afternoon for releasing after finishing everything I went out of the office to buy something to eat. I was not really feeling ok at that time, I feel so tired and looked so haggard. Suddenly my stress was relieved and uplifted when I met in the corridor a three year old kid who was with her mother looking at me and giving me a big smile as she mentioned the word “ATE” for three times. That child was a stranger to me, I never encountered her nor her mother before but her angelic HELLO did really fill my empty battery. In another occasion, I experienced being energized by a kid who hugs and kiss me after the testing session we had. For me that’s Jesus way of uplifting my spirit especially when I almost break.
The very first time I experience Jesus working wonders in my life is when I started studying here in the city. At the age of six my father brought me to the city to study in USC-South Grade School. I departed from our hometown and started a life being away from my grandmother, mama and younger siblings. It was difficult adjusting to the city life. I became very lonely and unhappy. During the first few months of the school year I often get sick maybe because I was not able to adopt right away sudden change of my childhood life. My father often brings me to school very early. I am often the earliest pupil to wait outside of our classroom. Sadness and loneliness increase the moment my father leaves me for work. I usually stayed at the round table and there I will cry silently. I was scared to be alone, besides it gave me a chance to ponder on my family in the province that I miss so badly. The very first person to comfort me was not a teacher, not a guidance counselor, not a classmate, not a school official but a school janitress one of the “floor girls”. I was comforted by her and was assured that I’ll be fine. Reminiscing that experienced made me praise Jesus because I recognize Him empathizing and comforting me, somehow my sadness twisted into gladness. The janitress became my friend. I do not anymore cry early in the morning because I often see her around very early in the morning and she watched over me. Her presence assured me that I’m not alone and that I’ll be safe.
That’s my very first concrete experience of Jesus as a source of Joy. Jesus comes to our aid through those special people whom we think are just ordinary.
I was ask to do a sharing about the topic Who is Jesus Christ? The task was very difficult for me. It trembled and feared me knowing that I'll be preaching about Jesus. I was anxious to do the sharing rather than feel very privilege because I was conscious if it would give Him honor and glory. Another thing I am not a good communicator, I also do not know how to organize my thoughts and words. I did a series of preparation for the sharing. I had myself renewed and gone through confession. I asked Mama Mary's help and the Holy Spirit's wisdom. But I was not prepared of what to tell people. I did not like preparing a speech because it was supposedly a sharing which i believe should be spontaneous. I somehow was able to do a good sharing. When I delivered it, i feel Jesus listening to me. I feel that He was happy and Mama Mary too. Conversely i feel down feeling deep humiliation of myself because i feel that there is something lacking in my sharing. Ibelieve that i still have to develop my communication skills. Overall my sharing was fine, i'll just have to let Jesus judge my heart.

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR A NATIONAL POLICY ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH, RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD AND POPULATION DEVELOPMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Short Title. – This Act shall be known as the “Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2008“.
MPT: Reproduction is one of man’s natural purpose. Population Development - refers to a program that aims to: (1) help couples and parents achieve their desired family size; (you can help still, the counterpart to artificial family planning, the key word is practice the habit of self-control, self-discipline, if we can do it in other areas why not in this area, the more you give alternatives the more confusing it would become, its just answering one question with more than 20 choices to choose from, it confuse the examinee and the probability to chose the right answer is 1 over 1000)
(2) improve reproductive health of individuals by addressing reproductive health problems; (The only problem is that we introduce modern method and teach people to become sexually irresponsible. Easy accessibility to contraception provides many choices for people and that is good versus various evil, . Unwed pregnancy, unwanted, teenage pregnancy, STDs, AIDS are problems we wanted to be minimized, if we really want these prevented we allow those who commit and or infected to reflect and suffer the consequences of their actions because human beings are not dogs, they are the highest form of living things and the only rational, they have the capacity to think and the will to do what is right, they have the capacity to LEARN, to learn what is morally right. Offering various alternatives is tantamount to reducing man’s capacity to learn. )
(3) contribute to decreased maternal and infant mortality rates and early child mortality; (The real mortality is preventing life, the maternal and infant mortality is high because of improper nutrition, we shouldfocus on the real cause of the problem rather than alluring humans to destroy their very essence)
(4) reduce incidence of teenage pregnancy; (teenage pregnancy will never be reduced by contraception. Contraception instead encourages parents and educators to become complacent in its duty to guide and teach adolescence the value of self-respect & self-control, and how to manage emotion, if this continues more family’s will be broken)
and (5) enable government to achieve a balanced population distribution.
(Philippines is not an overpopulated country. It’s not even a poor country. Only that it discriminates. Here’s a concrete example if this country is pro-poor and pro-life and the poorest among the poor are the street people, they are the ones struggling to survive and live, what Bill had been enacted to help them? To educate them? To shelter them? I found none, that’s why these people grow each year and the saddest thing is they become an outcast, they are not part of the Filipino Family., If we are really for balanced distribution of population we should not be blind and deaf then of the real situation)
SEC. 2. Declaration of Policy. – The State upholds and promotes responsible parenthood, informed choice, birth spacing and respect for life in conformity with internationally recognized human rights standards.
(Responsible parenthood parallels to responsible self)
The State shall uphold the right of the people, particularly women and their organizations, to effective and reasonable participation in the formulation and implementation of the declared policy.
This policy is anchored on the rationale that sustainable human development is better assured with a manageable population of healthy, educated and productive citizens.
(Well said! This is a very good vision. But the solutions presented are a product of narrow thinking; these are realistic but misleading. The general principle of man “SENDERISIS” is to do what is right and to avoid evil, this is what we were taught the details of what is good and what is evil are within us to perceived and learned.We know that artificial family planning e.g. use of contraception is wrong and yet we pacify it because it is self-serving, it is pleasurable to oneself )
The State likewise guarantees universal access to medically-safe, legal, affordable and quality reproductive health care services, methods, devices, supplies and relevant information thereon even as it prioritizes the needs of women and children,among other underprivileged sectors.
(If the old generation had mostly bigger families and they were able to survive. will the newgeneration not survive? Why can’t government spend affordable health services such as free hospitalization, free health care for the people. Why planned to spend a bigger portion on Artificial Family Planning , Reproductive Health, Population Development when they can do more., and in some ways if the government leads at educating people the value of abstinence which is also a form of self-discipline, will people not learn?, if everybody preach about it will human beings not learn? And if they (humans) so continue to deviate from what is morally right, why would we hinder them to learn the consequences of their actions? How will they learn on their own if we continue to spoon-feed them?
SEC. 3. Guiding Principles. – This Act declares the following as basic guiding principles:
a. In the promotion of reproductive health, there should be no bias for either modern or natural methods of family planning;
(The natural method of family planning is never bias but the only way to promote healthy mental, spiritual, physical \and social life)it’s the only way to promote self-discipline, self-control, self-respect and self-responsibility.
b. Reproductive health goes beyond a demographic target because it is principally about health and rights
c. Gender equality and women empowerment are central elements of reproductive health and population development;
d. Since manpower is the principal asset of every country, effective reproductive health care services must be given primacy to ensure the birth and care of healthy children and to promote responsible parenting;
e. The limited resources of the country cannot be suffered to, be spread so thinly to service a burgeoning multitude that makes the allocations grossly inadequate and effectively meaningless;
f. Freedom of informed choice, which is central to the exercise of any right, must be fully guaranteed by the State like the right itself;
g. While the number and spacing of children are left to the sound judgment of parents and couples based on their personal conviction and religious beliefs, such concerned parents and couples, including unmarried individuals, should be afforded free and full access to relevant, adequate and correct information on reproductive health and human sexuality and should be guided by qualified State workers and professional private practitioners;
h. Reproductive health, including the promotion of breastfeeding, must be the joint concern of the National Government and Local Government Units(LGUs);
i. Protection and promotion of gender equality, women empowerment and human rights, including reproductive health rights, are imperative;
j. Development is a multi-faceted process that calls for the coordination and integration of policies, plans, programs and projects that seek to uplift the quality of life of the people, more particularly the poor, the needy and the marginalized;
k. Active participation by and thorough consultation with concerned non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (POs) and communities are imperative to ensure that basic policies, plans, programs and projects address the priority needs of stakeholders;
l. Respect for, protection and fulfillment of reproductive health rights seek to promote not only the rights and welfare of adult individuals and couples but those of adolescents’ and children’s as well; and
m. While nothing in this Act changes the law on abortion, as abortion remains a crime and is punishable, the government shall ensure that women seeking care for post-abortion complications shall be treated and counseled in a humane, non-judgmental and compassionate manner.
have a proven track record of involvement in the promotion of reproductive health. These representatives shall be nominated in a process determined by the above-mentioned sectors, and to be appointed by the President for a term of three (3)years.
SEC. 6. Midwives for Skilled Attendance. -Every city and municipality shall endeavor to employ adequate number of midwives or other skilled attendants to achieve a minimum ratio of one (1)for every one hundred fifty (150) deliveries per year, to be based on the average annual number of actual deliveries or live births for the past two years.
(This should be the case)
SEC. 7. Emergency Obstetric Care. – Each province. and city shall endeavor to ensure the establishment and operation of hospitals with adequate and qualified personnel that provide emergency obstetric care. For every 500,000 population, there shall be at least one (1) hospital for comprehensive emergency obstetric care and four (4) hospitals for basic emergency obstetric care.
(Approved)
SEC. 8. Maternal Death Review. – All LGUs, national and local government hospitals, and other public health units shall conduct maternal death review in accordance with the guidelines to be issued by the DOH in consultation with the POPCOM.
(Approved)
SEC. 9. Hospital-Based Family Planning. -Tubal ligation, vasectomy, intrauterine device insertion and other family planning methods requiring hospital services shall be available in all national and local government hospitals, except: in specialty hospitals which may render such services on an optional basis. For indigent patients, such services shall be fully covered by PhilHealth insurance and/or government financial assistance
(These are inhuman, a lot of health professionals know that there are side effects to these forms of family planning and still they insist to legalize such, tempting people to touch a hot stove even if they know their hands will get burned)
.
SEC. 10. Contraceptives as Essential Medicines. – Hormonal contraceptives, intrauterine devices, injectables and other allied reproductive health products and supplies shall be considered under the category of essential medicines and supplies which shall form part of the National Drug Formulary and the same shall be included in the regular purchase of essential medicines and supplies of all national and lord hospitals and other government health units.
SEC. 11. Mobile Health Care Service. -Each Congressional District shall be provided with a van to be known as the Mobile Health Care Service (MHOS) to deliver health care goods and services to its constituents, more particularly to the poor and needy, as well as disseminate knowledge and information on reproductive health: Provided, That reproductive health education shall be conducted by competent and adequately trained persons preferably reproductive health care providers: Provided, further, That the full range of family planning methods, both natural and modern, shall be promoted.
(How can natural planning be promoted this way if those available goods and services of modern family planning method are easy to access, this is misleading, nothing about natural family planning can be promoted)
The acquisition, operation and maintenance of the MRCS shall be funded from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of each Congressional District.
The MHCS shall be adequately equipped with a wide range of reproductive health care materials and information dissemination devices and equipment, the latter including but not limited to, a television set for audio-visual presentation.
SEC. 12. Mandatory Age-Appropriate Reproductive Health Education. – Recognizing the importance of reproductive health rights in empowering the youth and developing them into responsible adults,( This is not true, you cannot empower youth to become responsible through advertising Modern Family Planning, this instead charmsthem to indulge to sexual activities )
Reproductive Health Education in an age-appropriate manner shall be taught by adequately trained teachers starting from Grade 5 up to Fourth Year High School. In order to assure the prior training of teachers on reproductive health, the implementation of Reproductive Health Education shall commence at the start of the school year one year following the effectivity of this Act. The POPCOM, in coordination with the Department of Education, shall formulate the Reproductive Health Education curriculum, which shall be common to both public and private schools and shall include related population and development concepts in addition to the following subjects and standards:
As an overall assessment this Bill is a product of irresponsible use of will and failure to use the intellect to scrutinize that which is morally good and that which is bad.I am completely against the Bill and my stand is irrevocable. Ironically most people who are pro RHBill 5043 are Christians. Non Christians e.g. Muslims preserve life. Are we going to see Philippines tomorrow dominated by Muslims instead of Christians?.
I adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church. I respect life, I may not be an expert to moral teachings but aside from trusting the Christian leaders who scholarly studied moral law I stand by my faith that nothing in God’s creation and gift that I will destroy not even a thought of it and if for any reason I will fail to obey what I stand today I ask my good Lord that if it happens He’ll quickly bring me back to the right path otherwise I deserve to perish.
